Mike Walker: Why do they hate America? Another of George W. Bush’s big lies.

  They DO seem to hate us, don’t they?  Those Muslims, those “A-rabs”, those guys in turbans?  Muslims attacked us on 9/11, in November of 2009, a Muslim attacked us at Fort Hood, TX, and now Muslim mobs are attacking our embassies in the Arab world, recently killing the Ambassador to Libya and several other US State Department employees. Those are the main ones, but yes, there have been other significant attacks against us led by Islamic terrorists. George W. Bush stated clearly and unequivocally in 2001 that they hate us for our freedoms! Really?

  Let’s visit Wayne’s World one more time, and watch Wayne and Garth sitting, waving their arms in weird circles for another of their famous “dream sequences.” The boys find themselves living in a United States that, for one reason or another, is no longer a major world military power. Our states have become more like small, independent countries, cutting off any cooperation with the federal government. Kentucky has its own autonomous government, so does Connecticut, Texas (no surprise there), Alabama, Oregon, Massachusetts, etc. The people in Alabama, Kansas, Texas, Mississippi and several others have set up Christian based governments, electing Protestant clerics to the major positions of power. Utah has a Mormon bishop serving as governor and he meets regularly with the major Mormon councils to set state policy. Wayne is the Governor of California (naturally) and Garth is the King of New York. Louisiana, Texas, Florida, and Alaska are doing well by selling their oil reserves to the world’s MAJOR power, CHINA! The Chinese people as a whole are prosperous and they don’t mind paying $25 a gallon for gas so they’re our ONLY customers.

  Then the comedy show ends. One day a civil war breaks out in Texas between the Catholics and the Baptists. It’s bloody, it’s savage, and most of all, it’s endangering China’s oil supply. The Chinese aren’t going to let this happen because it would be a blow to their national security so… China decides to help the people of Texas depose their Catholic governor using a technique called ”SHOCK and AWE.” Dallas and Houston are wiped off the face of the map. More than three million Texans, including women and children are killed in the attack. Then, to add insult to injury, China sets up Chinese martial law in Texas and sends Phul Uv Dung to serve as the Emperor until the Texans can take care of their own affairs.

  One year later, a skirmish begins in Florida between the Jewish population and the Methodists. The governor is Jewish, so naturally China does NOT want him in power. Shock and Awe again. China destroys Miami, Tallahassee, and St. Petersburgh. They install Mao’s brother Eet Mo Dung as emperor and he sets up shop in the fairyland castle in beautiful Orlando. (He enjoys the fireworks every night). AND they place Chinese military forces at all the oil producing facilities in the state and all along the gulf coast.

  Some of the people in Alabama are getting a little ticked off now because their little sliver of gulf coast is being patrolled by Chinese gunboats, so some anti-Chinese demonstrations break out. The evening news the next day reports that China is considering using military force, up to and including, nuclear weapons to squelch the uprisings in Alabama and now in Mississippi and Louisiana as well.

  The grandchildren of those California hippies now put on their tie-dyed tee shirts and flowered hairbands and THEY have a huge show of defiance against the Chinese for what THEY see as an attempt by the Chinese to control our American culture and at some point, to turn the entire United States into a Chinese colony.

  And did I mention? The Chinese aren’t Christians and some of them are defaming the name of Jesus Christ!

  I could go on with this fantastic scenario, but I’m already at 700 words and I don’t want to work you too hard. So I’ll ask ONE question! Why (in my scenario), would American Christians HATE the Chinese? Is it because of their freedoms? No, it’s because of their goddamned intrusion into our lives. It’s because the freaking Chinese have taken American lives. It’s because we KNOW the Chinese consider us religious lunatics and want to remake us as Buddhists and Taoists. The Chinese in this fictional world would be aggressors. They would think they are better than we are. They would expect us to adopt their culture. So…we HATE them.

  Does any of this sound familiar? Have you ever heard of our country using anything similar to “shock and awe” against a Muslim nation? Have you ever heard of Americans injecting themselves into another country’s political struggles? Could you ever imagine America occupying or attacking another sovereign nation to protect our access to oil?

  One of my favorite quotations is from one of my heroes, Noam Chomsky. He said, “Everybody’s worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there’s a really easy way: stop participating in it!” We should make every politician in American sign a “no new imperialistic attacks on other nations to protect our oil supply” pledge. Take THAT, Grover Norquist!

  About 20 years ago, a group of neo-conservative Republicans got together and started an organization that believed the United States was destined to be the dominant power in the world. They thought this was a laudable goal, and to accomplish it we would need to flex our military muscle. They actually proposed simultaneously engaging in multiple wars in the middle east, killing Saddam Hussein, and taking over the world’s supply of oil. A LOT of these men became powerful political leaders in the American system of government and some of them still hold that power. 

  The group was called the Project for a New American Century. Read about this group, see who the founders were, and try to peel back the layers of faux patriotism in their writings and discern their real intent. You’ll see American world dominance in every word. Then ask yourself again, why do Muslim countries, (and many others in the world), hate us! THEN, paste Noam Chomsky’s quote on your refrigerator and remember it well.
